Family history has been an engrossing hobby for me since the 1970s, when I set out to research all my children's ancestry. No, I still haven't finished!
I have been a lecturer in genealogy at LEA and university level and founded the Family History in Wales Courses in Aberystwyth. With my husband John, I have co-edited books on Welsh FH, and we are joint authors of The Surnames Of Wales. We have recently completed a new and much enlarged edition of the latter (publ. 2013 by Gomer Press, Llandysul).
Although I have specialised in Welsh research, I am also very interested in my English (Herefordshire) and Irish (Co. Cork) ancestry.
I was elected a Fellow of the Society of Genealogists (FSG) in 1995, for services to genealogy and a Master Craftsman of the Guild of One-Name Studies (MCG) in 2013.
